Champions crowned at the 2026 Northamptonshire County Tennis Championships
Six days of fantastic competition came to a close at Northampton County Lawn Tennis Club as players from across the county battled it out for honours at the 2026 Northamptonshire County Tennis Championships.
From our youngest 8U competitors through to the adult and 45+ events, the Championships once again produced some excellent tennis, close encounters and plenty of memorable performances.
Senior titles decided
In the Men’s Singles, top seed Joshua Wright lived up to his billing to claim the county title, defeating Daniel Cistelecan 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
Daniel had already enjoyed an excellent week and finished the Championships with an impressive collection of silverware. He won the 18U Boys Singles, partnered James Martin Tunn to victory in the Men’s Doubles and joined forces with Evangeline Dirnescu Morar to take the 18U Mixed Doubles title.
Evangeline was another of the standout performers. In addition to her Mixed Doubles success, she was crowned Women’s Singles champion and partnered Maely Couldrick to win the Women’s Doubles.
The 45+ titles went to Michal Mrozek in the Men’s Singles and David Brennan & Neal Rowe in the Men’s Doubles.
Multiple champions shine
There were plenty of players celebrating more than one title during the week.
Mya Kom enjoyed a superb Championships, winning both the 16U and 18U Girls Singles titles. She then added the 18U Girls Doubles crown alongside Esme Gallon, as well as reaching the final of the 18U Mixed Doubles with Jack Webb.
Esme also enjoyed success of her own in the 14U Girls Singles, while Corey Litster completed a 14U double by winning the Boys Singles before partnering Kajetan Mrozek to victory in the Boys Doubles. Corey also reached the 16U Boys Singles final.
There was a double celebration for Alfie Felstead, who won both the 10U and 11U Boys Singles titles, while Olivia Samoila claimed the 11U Girls Singles before combining with Bella Stanley to win the 11U Girls Doubles.
At the younger end of the Championships, David Oslizlok completed an impressive double by winning both the 8U and 9U Boys Singles events.
Close contests and great matches
There was no shortage of drama across the week, with several matches going right to the wire.
The 16U Boys Singles final was a particularly close contest, with Jack Webb overcoming Corey Litster in a championship tie-break to take the title.
The Championships also featured plenty of other tight encounters and championship tie-breaks as players battled for every point, highlighting the competitive spirit on show throughout the week.
Other junior singles champions included Harry Cooper in the 12U Boys, Aida Rosu in the 12U Girls, Isla Cartwright in the 10U Girls and Sofia Kasmir-Murphy in the 9U Girls.
The 8U Girls title went to Allegra Grace, while Evangeline Dirnescu Morar, Daniel Cistelecan, Mya Kom, Jack Webb, Corey Litster and Esme Gallon were among those taking home some of the major older junior titles.
A special award
There was also a special moment during the Championships as Konstantin Vukovic was presented with the Kevin Hoey Memorial Trophy, adding another memorable chapter to a week that was about much more than simply winning matches.
