What is Walking Tennis?
Walking Tennis is a simplified version of the traditional game. The rules have been tweaked a little to make the game less demanding physically. There are two versions of the game: an indoor version played on a badminton size court (Walking Tennis 1) and an outdoor version played on a full-size court (Walking Tennis 2).
Walking Tennis can be played by everyone, but it particularly suits players who are less physically able due to age, health conditions or tennis skills.

FREE Walking Tennis Activator Training Session
In partnership with the Bedfordshire Open Court Tennis programme, we are excited to be offering a free Walking Tennis activator training session which will take place at Sharnbrook Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday 28th July between 6.30pm-8.30pm
This on-court training is aimed at anyone (club volunteer/coach) with an interest in setting up Walking Tennis at their club. Those already delivering Walking Tennis are also welcome to attend, to share their experiences and to hopefully pick up some new ideas.
By attending the training session clubs will have the opportunity to apply for a small equipment pack to kick-start their Walking Tennis programme, and they may also be eligible for some county funding support.
It would be appreciated if you can promote this training opportunity within your club, and if anyone is interested in attending ask them to email Leo Tutt (Northants Open Court Lead) at opencourt@northantstennis.org
Please also let Leo know if you require any further information.
We hope to see your club represented at the training session!
