18U Girls Report
Lois made her debut for the U18s and settled in quickly to pull off a win against Bedfordshire. This match was also a strong result for the team winning the fixture 4-0.
Nottinghamshire proved a tight affair losing 3-1 with Natalia getting a good win playing at number 2 and Evie losing in a tight match to a girl 3 years older.
Essex proved to strong for everyone on the day taking the overall win.
Northants finishing the day in 3rd place.

18U Boys Report
The 12 Counties competition at Corby on 7/2/26 saw the Northants U18 Boys team facing stiff opposition in the form of Nottinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Essex.
Our expected number 1 player Kacper had to pull out of the competition due to tennis commitments elsewhere, so that meant our players had to play up at higher positions than they were expecting. However they all turned up ready to do battle with smiles on their faces.
We had Marcel playing at 1, Daniel at 2, Tanishq at 3 and Bodie at 4.
In the first match v Notts all the matches were closely matched but Marcel found himself 0-3 in the first set & with the format being first to 4 with a tie-break at 4 all it looked a tall order to turn it around but he knuckled down & managed to play some excellent tennis to force a tie-break & come out on top wining the first set 5-4 & with the momentum in his favour he went on to win the 2nd set 4-1. That proved to be are only win of the tie with Daniel losing 2-4, 1-4, Tanishq losing out 1-4, 3-5 & Bodie playing a fellow left hander with a similar game style came unstuck losing 2-4, 2-4.
Final score: Northants 1 Notts 3
In the 2nd match we played Beds & they proved to be another tough opposition. They took the first sets in the first 3 matches by a score of 0-4 however our lads heads didn't go down and they continued to battle hard and put in a great effort. The final outcome for the first 3 matches saw Marcel lose 0-4, 3-5, Daniel lost 0-4, 0-4 & Tanishq went down 0-4, 2-4. In the final match of the tie Bodie started to gain his confidence and patience and made some telling shots to come out a winner 4-2, 5-4 after a lengthy tie-break.
Final Score: Northants 1 Beds 3
The final match of the day saw the lads up against the pre tournament favourites Essex. All the lads continued to put in great effort for their last matches of the day, however, we couldn't find a win the closing tie. The final scores were: Marcel 0-4, 0-4, Daniel 1-4, 1-4, Tanishq 0-4, 0-4 & Bodie 1-4, 2-4.
Final Score: Northants 0 Essex 4
This result meant Essex were crowned the winners.
In March we take the boys away to Gloucester for the 18U County Cup and I have tasked the boys with playing as much tennis/practice sets as they can in the next month to get them match tight in readiness for their next County representation.
