County Tennis - Performance and Junior Captains

Northamptonshire Tennis (NLTA) aims to provide quality county training, leading to County Cup and inter-county competition opportunities, for junior players in the 8U to 18U age groups.

To achieve this, we select and partner with performance coaches, who have shown a commitment to the county and have the skills and experience to captain our teams. 

NLTA draw their coaches and players from across Northants and the county currently has two venues delivering LTA 10U Performance Programmes: Dallington LTC and Corby Tennis Centre. These are recognised by the LTA and NLTA as having operators, or coaching teams, that can offer high quality training environments for aspiring players in the 6-10U age group. 10U Performance Programmes

Only LTA Level 3 and above Accredited Coaches are appointed as County Captains.  Apply for LTA Tennis Coaching Qualifications

Some County Captains are Accreditation + Level.  The + is an LTA quality kitemark, demonstrating their commitment to being the best coach they can be, keeping up to date with the most current practice and thinking. Coaches need to complete 15 hours of continuous professional training (CPD) per year to maintain this recognition.

Vice Captains are accredited, generally LTA Level 2 Coaches and aspiring future captains, being supported and mentored on their performance coaching journey.
